Château de Mayragues
Guest bedrooms in the château at a Bio-Dynamic vineyard
Château de Mayragues ( Gaillac - Cordes-sur-Ciel )
A Bio-Dynamic vineyard with guest bedrooms in the medieval castle, a listed building.
The Château de Mayragues is situated in the Tarn, south-west France, between Gaillac, Cordes sur Ciel and Albi.. In this magnificent setting, between the castle (12th – 17th century) built of the local light-coloured limestone,, and the picturesque dovecot mounted on four stone columns, the Geddes family will be delighted to introduce to the wines of the domain.
The two guest bedrooms, as original as the wines of the domain, comfortably and tastefully furnished, are situated on the second floor of the château. They open on to the open gallery (originally defensive in nature) which surrounds the building, and allows a splendid 360° view of the rolling countryside with its vines, fields and woods.
The Château de Mayragues, with its picturesque dovecot, is listed as a Historic Monument. Situated in the middle of the Gaillac vineyards, the domain has been Bio-Dynamic since 1999, the first vineyard in Gaillac to adopt this completely natural approach to making wine.
